"Very truly, I tell you, anyone who does not enter the sheepfold by the gate but climbs in by another way is a thief and a bandit. 1 "Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever does not enter a sheepfold through the gate but climbs over elsewhere is a thief and a robber. 1 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the fold of the sheep, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.1 "I tell you most solemnly, anyone who does not enter the sheepfold through the gate, but gets in some other way is a thief and a brigand. 1 "Very truly I tell you Pharisees, anyone who does not enter the sheep pen by the gate, but climbs in by some other way, is a thief and a robber. 1 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.
The one who enters by the gate is the shepherd of the sheep. 2 But whoever enters through the gate is the shepherd of the sheep. 2 But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.2 The one who enters through the gate is the shepherd of the flock; 2 The one who enters by the gate is the shepherd of the sheep. 2 But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.
The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep hear his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. 3 The gatekeeper opens it for him, and the sheep hear his voice, as he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. 3 To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.3 the gatekeeper lets him in, the sheep hear his voice, one by one he calls his own sheep and leads them out. 3 The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. 3 To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.
When he has brought out all his own, he goes ahead of them, and the sheep follow him because they know his voice. 4 When he has driven out all his own, he walks ahead of them, and the sheep follow him, because they recognize his voice. 4 When he hath put forth all his own, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.4 When he has brought out his flock, he goes ahead of them, and the sheep follow because they know his voice. 4 When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice. 4 And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.
They will not follow a stranger, but they will run from him because they do not know the voice of strangers." 5 But they will not follow a stranger; they will run away from him, because they do not recognize the voice of strangers." 5 And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.5 They never follow a stranger but run away from him: they do not recognize the voice of strangers". 5 But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger's voice."5 And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.
Jesus used this figure of speech with them, but they did not understand what he was saying to them. 6 Although Jesus used this figure of speech, they did not realize what he was trying to tell them. 6 This parable spake Jesus unto them: but they understood not what things they were which he spake unto them.6 Jesus told them this parable but they failed to understand what he meant by telling it to them. 6 Jesus used this figure of speech, but the Pharisees did not understand what he was telling them.6 This parable spake Jesus unto them: but they understood not what things they were which he spake unto them.
So again Jesus said to them, "Very truly, I tell you, I am the gate for the sheep. 7 So Jesus said again, "Amen, amen, I say to you, I am the gate for the sheep. 7 Jesus therefore said unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.7 So Jesus spoke to them again: "I tell you most solemnly, I am the gate of the sheepfold.7 Therefore Jesus said again, "Very truly I tell you, I am the gate for the sheep. 7 Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.
All who came before me are thieves and bandits; but the sheep did not listen to them. 8 All who came [before me] are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. 8 All that came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them.8 All others who have come are thieves and brigands; but the sheep took no notice of them. 8 All who have come before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep have not listened to them.8 All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them.
I am the gate. Whoever enters by me will be saved, and will come in and go out and find pasture. 9 I am the gate. Whoever enters through me will be saved, and will come in and go out and find pasture. 9 I am the door; by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and go out, and shall find pasture.9 I am the gate. Anyone who enters through me will be safe: he will go freely in and out and be sure of finding pasture. 9 I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out, and find pasture. 9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly. 10 A thief comes only to steal and slaughter and destroy; I came so that they might have life and have it more abundantly.10 The thief cometh not, but that he may steal, and kill, and destroy: I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly.10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I have come so that they may have life and have it to the full. 10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have [it] more abundantly.
