The verb tithēmi (to put) in the Gospels-Acts

(Translation from NRSV for the New Testament with a few modifications for a more literal meaning)


Matthew

5: 15 No one after lighting a lamp puts (tithēmi) it under the bushel basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all in the house.
12: 18 "Here is my servant, whom I have chosen, my beloved, with whom my soul is well pleased. I will put (tithēmi) my Spirit upon him, and he will proclaim justice to the nations.
22: 44 'The Lord said to my Lord, "Sit at my right hand, until I put (tithēmi) your enemies under your feet"'?
24: 51 He will cut him in pieces and put (tithēmi) him with the hypocrites, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
27: 60 and put (tithēmi) it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn in the rock. He then rolled a great stone to the door of the tomb and went away.

Acts

1: 7 He replied, "It is not for you to know the times or periods that the Father has put (tithēmi) by his own authority.
