(Translation from NRSV with a few modifications for a more literal meaning)
Matthew
| 18: 4 | Whoever humbles (tapeinoō) himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. |
| 23: 12 | All who exalt themselves will be humbled (tapeinoō), and all who humble (tapeinoō) themselves will be exalted. |
Luke
| 3: 5 | Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be humbled (tapeinoō), and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough ways made smooth; |
| 14: 11 | For all who exalt themselves will be humbled (tapeinoō), and those who humble (tapeinoō) themselves will be exalted." |
