Verb ōpheleō (to profit) in the Gospels-Acts
(Translation from NRSV with a few modifications for a more literal meaning)
Matthew
| 15: 5 | But you say that whoever tells father or mother, 'Whatever you might profit (ōpheleō) from me is given to God,' then that person need not honor the father. |
| 16: 26 | For what will it profit (ōpheleō) them if they gain the whole world but forfeit their life? Or what will they give in return for their life? |
| 27: 24 | So when Pilate saw that he could profit (ōpheleō) from anything, but rather that a riot was beginning, he took some water and washed his hands before the crowd, saying, "I am innocent of this man's blood; see to it yourselves." |
