Verb martyreō (to testify, to receive testimony) in the Gospels-Acts

Matthew

23: 31Thus you testify (martyreō) against yourselves that you are descendants of those who murdered the prophets.

Luke

4: 22All testified (martyreō) to him and were amazed at the gracious words that came from his mouth. They said, "Is not this Joseph's son?"

John

1: 7He came as a witness to testify (martyreō) to the light, so that all might believe through him.
1: 8He himself was not the light, but he came to testify (martyreō) to the light.
1: 15(John testified (martyreō) to him and cried out, "This was he of whom I said, 'He who comes after me ranks ahead of me because he was before me.'")
1: 32And John testified (martyreō), "I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it remained on him.

Acts

6: 3Therefore, friends, select from among yourselves seven men who are receiving a good testimony (martyreō), full of the Spirit and of wisdom, whom we may appoint to this task,
10: 22They answered, "Cornelius, a centurion, an upright and God-fearing man, who are receiving a good testimony (martyreō) by the whole Jewish nation, was directed by a holy angel to send for you to come to his house and to hear what you have to say."
10: 43All the prophets testify (martyreō) about him that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name."
13: 22When he had removed him, he made David their king. When testifying (martyreō) about him he said, 'I have found David, son of Jesse, to be a man after my heart, who will carry out all my wishes.'

1 John

1: 2this life was revealed, and we have seen it and testify (martyreō) to it, and declare to you the eternal life that was with the Father and was revealed to us
4: 14And we have seen and do testify (martyreō) that the Father has sent his Son as the Savior of the world.
5: 6This is the one who came by water and blood, Jesus Christ, not with the water only but with the water and the blood. And the Spirit is the one that testifies (martyreō), for the Spirit is the truth.
5: 7There are three that testify (martyreō):
5: 9If we receive human testimony, the testimony of God is greater; for this is the testimony of God that he has testified (martyreō) to his Son.
5: 10Those who believe in the Son of God have the testimony in their hearts. Those who do not believe in God have made him a liar by not believing in the testimony that God has testified (martyreō) concerning his Son.

3 John

1: 3I was overjoyed when some of the friends arrived and testified (martyreō) to your faithfulness to the truth, namely how you walk in the truth.
1: 6they have testified (martyreō) to your love before the church. You will do well to send them on in a manner worthy of God;
1: 12Everyone has testified (martyreō) favorably about Demetrius, and so has the truth itself. We also testify (martyreō) for him, and you know that our testimony is true.
