Expression houtos estin (this is) related to Jesus in the Johannine tradition

| 1: 30 | This is (houtos estin) he of whom I said, 'After me comes a man who ranks ahead of me because he was before me.' |
| 1: 33 | I myself did not know him, but the one who sent me to baptize with water said to me, 'He on whom you see the Spirit descend and remain this is (houtos estin) the one who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.' |
| 1: 34 | And I myself have seen and have testified that this is (houtos estin) the Son of God." |
| 4: 42 | They said to the woman, "It is no longer because of what you said that we believe, for we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this is (houtos estin) truly the Savior of the world." |
