The adverb hopōs (how / so that) in the Gospels-Acts

(Translation from NRSV for the New Testament with a few modifications for a more litteral meaning)


Matthew

2: 8Then he sent them to Bethlehem, saying, "Go and search diligently for the child; and when you have found him, bring me word so that (hopōs) I may also go and pay him homage."
2: 23There he made his home in a town called Nazareth, so that (hopōs) what had been spoken through the prophets might be fulfilled, "He will be called a Nazorean."
5: 16In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that (hopōs) they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.
5: 45so that (hopōs) you may be children of your Father in heaven; for he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the righteous and on the unrighteous.
