The adverb exō (outside) in the Gospels-Acts

(Translation from NRSV with a few modifications)


Legend:
Red color: exō = out of a place with a roof (house, palace, enclosure, tomb)
Green color: exō = outside a geographic location (vineyard, village, city, country)
Pink color: exō = out of a room or assembly
Blue color: exō = symbolic meaning: excommunication, not belonging to a community or group

Matthew

5: 13 "You are the salt of the earth; but if salt has lost its taste, how can its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything, but is thrown out (exō) and trampled under foot.
10: 14 If anyone will not welcome you or listen to your words, shake off the dust from your feet as you leave out (exō) that house or town.
12: 46 While he was still speaking to the crowds, his mother and his brothers were standing outside (exō), wanting to speak to him.
12: 47 Someone told him, "Look, your mother and your brothers are standing outside (exō), wanting to speak to you."

Acts
