Verb eperōtaō (to question) in the New Testament

Matthew

12: 10a man was there with a withered hand, and they questioned (eperōtaō) him, "Is it lawful to cure on the sabbath?" so that they might accuse him.
16: 1The Pharisees and Sadducees came, and to test Jesus they questioned (eperōtaō) him to show them a sign from heaven.
17: 10And the disciples questioned (eperōtaō) him, "Why, then, do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?"
22: 23The same day some Sadducees came to him, saying there is no resurrection; and they questioned (eperōtaō) him saying,
22: 35and one of them, a lawyer, questioned (eperōtaō) him to test him.
22: 41Now while the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus questioned (eperōtaō) them:
