The adverb/preposition emprosthen (before / in front of) in the Gospels-Acts

Matthew

5: 16In the same way, let your light shine before (emprosthen) others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.
5: 24leave your gift there before (emprosthen) the altar and go; first be reconciled to your brother or sister, and then come and offer your gift.
6: 1"Beware of practicing your piety before (emprosthen) others in order to be seen by them; for then you have no reward from your Father in heaven.
6: 2"So whenever you give alms, do not sound a trumpet before (emprosthen) you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, so that they may be praised by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward.
