1: 18Now the birth of Jesus the Messiah took place in this way. When his mother Mary had been engaged to Joseph, but prior than (ē) living together, she was found to be with child from the Holy Spirit.
5: 17"Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or (ē) the prophets; I have come not to abolish but to fulfill.
5: 18For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth pass away, not one letter or (ē) one stroke of a letter, will pass from the law until all is accomplished.
5: 36And do not swear by your head, for you cannot make one hair white or (ē) black.
6: 24"No one can serve two masters; for or (ē) a slave will either hate the one and love the other, or (ē) be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth.
6: 25"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or (ē) what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?
6: 31Therefore do not worry, saying, 'What will we eat?' or (ē) 'What will we drink?' or (ē) 'What will we wear?'
7: 4Or (ē) how can you say to your neighbor, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' while the log is in your own eye?
7: 9Or (ē) is there anyone among you who, if your child asks for bread, will give a stone?

7: 16You will know them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thorns, or (ē) figs from thistles?
9: 5For which is easier, to say, 'Your sins are forgiven,' or (ē) to say, 'Stand up and walk'?
10: 11Whatever town or (ē) village you enter, find out who in it is worthy, and stay there until you leave.
10: 14If anyone will not welcome you nor listen to your words, shake off the dust from your feet as you leave that house or (ē) town.
10: 15Truly I tell you, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah on the day of judgment than (ē) for that town.
10: 19When they hand you over, do not worry about how you are to speak or (ē) what you are to say; for what you are to say will be given to you at that time;
10: 37Whoever loves father or (ē) mother over me is not worthy of me; and whoever loves son or (ē) daughter more over me is not worthy of me;
11: 3and said to him, "Are you the one who is to come, or (ē) are we to wait for another?"
11: 22But I tell you, on the day of judgment it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon than (ē) for you.
11: 24But I tell you that on the day of judgment it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom than (ē) for you."
12: 5Or (ē) have you not read in the law that on the sabbath the priests in the temple break the sabbath and yet are guiltless?
12: 25He knew what they were thinking and said to them, "Every kingdom divided against itself is laid waste, and no city or (ē) house divided against itself will stand.
12: 29Or (ē) how can one enter a strong man's house and plunder his property, without first tying up the strong man? Then indeed the house can be plundered.
12: 33"Or (ē) you make the tree good, and its fruit good; or (ē) make the tree bad, and its fruit bad; for the tree is known by its fruit.
13: 21yet such a person has no root, but endures only for a while, and when trouble or (ē) persecution arises on account of the word, that person immediately falls away.
15: 4For God said, 'Honor your father and your mother,' and, 'Whoever speaks evil of father or (ē) mother must surely die.'
15: 5But you say that whoever tells father or (ē) mother, 'Whatever support you might have had from me is given to God,' then that person need not honor the father.
16: 14And they said, "Some say John the Baptist, but others Elijah, and still others Jeremiah or (ē) one of the prophets."
16: 26For what will it profit them if they gain the whole world but forfeit their life? Or (ē) what will they give in return for their life?
17: 25He said, "Yes, he does." And when he came home, Jesus spoke of it first, asking, "What do you think, Simon? From whom do kings of the earth take toll or (ē) tribute? From their children or (ē) from others?"
18: 8"If your hand or (ē) your foot causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it away; it is better for you to enter life maimed or (ē) lame than (ē) to have two hands or (ē) two feet and to be thrown into the eternal fire.
18: 9And if your eye causes you to stumble, tear it out and throw it away; it is better for you to enter life with one eye than (ē) to have two eyes and to be thrown into the hell of fire.
18: 13And if he finds it, truly I tell you, he rejoices over it more than (ē) over the ninety-nine that never went astray.
18: 16But if you are not listened to, take one or (ē) two others along with you, so that every word may be confirmed by the evidence of two or (ē) three witnesses.
18: 20For where two or (ē) three are gathered in my name, I am there among them."
19: 24Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than (ē) for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God."
19: 29And everyone who has left houses or (ē) brothers or (ē) sisters or (ē) father or (ē) mother or (ē) children or (ē) fields, for my name's sake, will receive a hundredfold, and will inherit eternal life.
20: 15[Or (ē)] am I not allowed to do what I choose with what belongs to me? Or (ē) are you envious because I am generous?'
21: 25Did the baptism of John come from heaven, or (ē) was it of human origin?" And they argued with one another, "If we say, 'From heaven,' he will say to us, 'Why then did you not believe him?'
22: 17Tell us, then, what you think. Is it lawful to pay taxes to the emperor, or (ē) not?"
23: 17You blind fools! For which is greater, the gold or (ē) the sanctuary that has made the gold sacred?
23: 19How blind you are! For which is greater, the gift or (ē) the altar that makes the gift sacred?
24: 23Then if anyone says to you, 'Look! Here is the Messiah!' or (ē) 'There he is!' - do not believe it.
25: 37Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when was it that we saw you hungry and gave you food, or (ē) thirsty and gave you something to drink?
25: 38And when was it that we saw you a stranger and welcomed you, or (ē) naked and gave you clothing?
25: 39And when was it that we saw you sick or (ē) in prison and visited you?'
25: 44Then they also will answer, 'Lord, when was it that we saw you hungry or (ē) thirsty or (ē) a stranger or (ē) naked or (ē) sick or (ē) in prison, and did not take care of you?'
26: 53Or (ē) do you think that I cannot appeal to my Father, and he will at once send me more than twelve legions of angels?
27: 17So after they had gathered, Pilate said to them, "Whom do you want me to release for you, Jesus Barabbas or (ē) Jesus who is called the Messiah?"

Mark

2: 9Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, 'Your sins are forgiven,' or (ē) to say, 'Stand up and take your mat and walk'?
3: 4Then he said to them, "Is it lawful to do good or (ē) to do harm on the sabbath, to save life or (ē) to kill?" But they were silent.
4: 17But they have no root, and endure only for a while; then, when trouble or (ē) persecution arises on account of the word, immediately they fall away.
4: 21He said to them, "Is a lamp brought in to be put under the bushel basket, or (ē) under the bed, and not on the lampstand?

11: 28and said, "By what authority are you doing these things? Or (ē) who gave you this authority to do them?"

12: 14And they came and said to him, "Teacher, we know that you are sincere, and show deference to no one; for you do not regard people with partiality, but teach the way of God in accordance with truth. Is it lawful to pay taxes to the emperor, or (ē) not? Should we pay, or (ē) not?
13: 32"But about that day or (ē) hour no one knows, neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.
13: 35Therefore, keep awake - for you do not know when the master of the house will come, or (ē) in the evening, or (ē) at midnight, or (ē) at cockcrow, or (ē) at dawn,
14: 30Jesus said to him, "Truly I tell you, this day, this very night, prior than (ē) the cock crowing twice, you will deny me three times."

Luke

2: 24and they offered a sacrifice according to what is stated in the law of the Lord, "a pair of turtledoves or (ē) two young pigeons."

13: 4Or (ē) those eighteen who were killed when the tower of Siloam fell on them - do you think that they were worse offenders than all the others living in Jerusalem?
13: 15But the Lord answered him and said, "You hypocrites! Does not each of you on the sabbath untie his ox or (ē) his donkey from the manger, and lead it away to give it water?
14: 3And Jesus asked the lawyers and Pharisees, "Is it lawful to cure people on the sabbath, or (ē) not?"
14: 5Then he said to them, "If one of you has a child or (ē) an ox that has fallen into a well, will you not immediately pull it out on a sabbath day?"
14: 12He said also to the one who had invited him, "When you give a luncheon or (ē) a dinner, do not invite your friends nor your brothers nor your relatives nor rich neighbors, in case they may invite you in return, and you would be repaid.
14: 31Or (ē) what king, going out to wage war against another king, will not sit down first and consider whether he is able with ten thousand to oppose the one who comes against him with twenty thousand?
15: 7Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than (ē) over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.
15: 8"Or (ē) what woman having ten silver coins, if she loses one of them, does not light a lamp, sweep the house, and search carefully until she finds it?
16: 13No slave can serve two masters; for, or (ē) a slave will hate the one and love the other, or (ē) be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth."
16: 17But it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away, than (ē) for one stroke of a letter in the law to be dropped.
17: 2It would be better for you if a millstone were hung around your neck and you were thrown into the sea than (ē) for you to cause one of these little ones to stumble.
17: 7"Who among you would say to your slave who has just come in from plowing or (ē) tending sheep in the field, 'Come here at once and take your place at the table'?
17: 21nor will they say, 'Look, here it is!' or (ē) 'There it is!' For, in fact, the kingdom of God is among you."
17: 23They will say to you, 'Look there!' or (ē) 'Look here!' Do not go, do not set off in pursuit.
18: 11The Pharisee, standing by himself, was praying thus, 'God, I thank you that I am not like other people: thieves, rogues, adulterers, or (ē) even like this tax collector.

John

7: 48Has any one of the authorities or (ē) of the Pharisees believed in him?
8: 14Jesus answered, "Even if I testify on my own behalf, my testimony is valid because I know where I have come from and where I am going, but you do not know where I come from or (ē) where I am going.
9: 2His disciples asked him, "Rabbi, who sinned, this man or (ē) his parents, that he was born blind?"
9: 21but we do not know how it is that now he sees, or (ē) who opened his eyes. Ask him; he is of age. He will speak for himself."
13: 29Some thought that, because Judas had the common purse, Jesus was telling him, "Buy what we need for the festival"; or (ē), that he should give something to the poor.
18: 34Jesus answered, "Do you ask this on your own, or (ē) did others tell you about me?"

Acts

1: 7He replied, "It is not for you to know the times or (ē) periods that the Father has set by his own authority.
3: 12When Peter saw it, he addressed the people, "You Israelites, why do you wonder at this, or (ē) why do you stare at us, as though by our own power or (ē) piety we had made him walk?
4: 7When they had made the prisoners stand in their midst, they inquired, "By what power or (ē) by what name did you do this?"
4: 19But Peter and John answered them, "Whether it is right in God's sight to listen to you rather than (ē) to God, you must judge;
4: 34There was not a needy person among them, for as many as owned lands or (ē) houses sold them and brought the proceeds of what was sold.
5: 29But Peter and the apostles answered, "We must obey God rather than (ē) any human authority.
5: 38So in the present case, I tell you, keep away from these men and let them alone; because if this plan or (ē) this undertaking is of human origin, it will fail;

25: 16I told them that it was not the custom of the Romans to hand over anyone prior than (ē) accusing had met the accusers face to face and had been given an opportunity to make a defense against the charge.
26: 31and as they were leaving, they said to one another, "This man is doing nothing to deserve death or (ē) imprisonment."

28: 6They were expecting him to swell up or (ē) drop dead, but after they had waited a long time and saw that nothing unusual had happened to him, they changed their minds and began to say that he was a god.
28: 17Three days later he called together the local leaders of the Jews. When they had assembled, he said to them, "Brothers, though I had done nothing against our people or (ē) the customs of our ancestors, yet I was arrested in Jerusalem and handed over to the Romans.
28: 21They replied, "We have received no letters from Judea about you, and none of the brothers coming here has reported or (ē) spoken anything evil about you.

4: 4Little children, you are from God, and have conquered them; for the one who is in you is greater than (ē) the one who is in the world.
