Verb hypostrephō (to return) in the New Testament

(Translation from NRSV with a few modifications for a more literal meaning)


Luke

1: 56And Mary remained with her about three months and then returned (hypostrephō) to her home.
2: 20The shepherds returned (hypostrephō), glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen, as it had been told them.
2: 43When the festival was ended and they started to return (hypostrephō), the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem, but his parents did not know it.
2: 45When they did not find him, they returned (hypostrephō) to Jerusalem to search for him.
4: 1Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned (hypostrephō) from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit in the wilderness,
