Verb hypagō (to go) in the New Testament

(Translation from NRSV with a few modifications for a more literal meaning)


Matthew

4: 10Jesus said to him, "Go (hypagō), Satan! for it is written, 'Worship the Lord your God, and serve only him.'"
5: 24leave your gift there before the altar and go (hypagō); first be reconciled to your brother or sister, and then come and offer your gift.
5: 41and if anyone forces you for one mile, go (hypagō) also the second mile.
8: 4Then Jesus said to him, "See that you say nothing to anyone; but go (hypagō), show yourself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, as a testimony to them."
8: 13And to the centurion Jesus said, "Go (hypagō); let it be done for you according to your faith." And the servant was healed in that hour.
8: 32And he said to them, "Go (hypagō)!" So they came out and entered the swine; and suddenly, the whole herd rushed down the steep bank into the sea and perished in the water.

Luke

8: 42for he had an only daughter, about twelve years old, who was dying. As he was going (hypagō), the crowds pressed in on him.
10: 3Go (hypagō) on your way. See, I am sending you out like lambs into the midst of wolves.
12: 58Thus, when you go (hypagō) with your accuser before a magistrate, on the way make an effort to settle the case, or you may be dragged before the judge, and the judge hand you over to the officer, and the officer throw you in prison.
17: 14When he saw them, he said to them, "Go (hypagō) and show yourselves to the priests." And as they went, they were made clean.

John

2: 11But whoever hates another believer is in the darkness, walks in the darkness, and does not know the way to go (hypagō), because the darkness has brought on blindness.

James

2: 16and one of you says to them, "Go (hypagō) in peace; keep warm and eat your fill," and yet you do not supply their bodily needs, what is the good of that?

Revelation

10: 8Then the voice that I had heard from heaven spoke to me again, saying, "Go (hypagō), take the scroll that is open in the hand of the angel who is standing on the sea and on the land."
13: 10If you are to be taken captive, into captivity you go (hypagō); if you kill with the sword, with the sword you must be killed. Here is a call for the endurance and faith of the saints.
14: 4It is these who have not defiled themselves with women, for they are virgins; these follow the Lamb wherever he goes (hypagō). They have been redeemed from humankind as first fruits for God and the Lamb,
16: 1Then I heard a loud voice from the temple telling the seven angels, "Go (hypagō) and pour out on the earth the seven bowls of the wrath of God."
17: 8The beast that you saw was, and is not, and is about to ascend from the bottomless pit and go (hypagō) to destruction. And the inhabitants of the earth, whose names have not been written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, will be amazed when they see the beast, because it was and is not and is to come.
17: 11As for the beast that was and is not, it is an eighth but it belongs to the seven, and it goes (hypagō) to destruction.
