Verb hetoimazō (to prepare) in the Gospels-Acts

(Translation from NRSV with a few modifications for a more literal meaning)


Matthew

3: 3This is the one of whom the prophet Isaiah spoke when he said, "The voice of one crying out in the wilderness: 'Prepare (hetoimazō) the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.'"
20: 23He said to them, "You will indeed drink my cup, but to sit at my right hand and at my left, this is not mine to grant, but it is for those for whom it has been prepared (hetoimazō) by my Father."
22: 4Again he sent other slaves, saying, 'Tell those who have been invited: Look, I have prepared (hetoimazō) my dinner, my oxen and my fat calves have been slaughtered, and everything is ready; come to the wedding banquet.'
25: 34Then the king will say to those at his right hand, 'Come, you that are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared (hetoimazō) for you from the foundation of the world;
25: 41Then he will say to those at his left hand, 'You that are accursed, depart from me into the eternal fire prepared (hetoimazō) for the devil and his angels;

14: 2In my Father's house there are many dwelling places. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare (hetoimazō) a place for you?
14: 3And if I go and prepare (hetoimazō) a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, so that where I am, there you may be also.

Acts

23: 23Then he summoned two of the centurions and said, "Prepare (hetoimazō) yourself to leave by nine o'clock tonight for Caesarea with two hundred soldiers, seventy horsemen, and two hundred spearmen.
