Verb eimi (to be) in the future tense in the Gospels-Acts

(Translation from NRSV for the New Testament with a few modifications for a more litteral meaning)


Matthew

5: 21"You have heard that it was said to those of ancient times, 'You shall not murder'; and 'whoever murders shall be (eimi) liable to judgment.'
5: 22But I say to you that if you are angry with a brother or sister, you will be (eimi) liable to judgment; and if you insult a brother or sister, you will be (eimi) liable to the council; and if you say, 'You fool,' you will be (eimi) liable to the hell of fire.
5: 48You will be (eimi) perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
6: 5"And whenever you pray, you will not be (eimi) like the hypocrites; for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, so that they may be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward.
6: 21For where your treasure is, there your heart will be (eimi) also.
6: 22"The eye is the lamp of the body. So, if your eye is healthy, your whole body will be (eimi) full of light;
6: 23but if your eye is unhealthy, your whole body will be (eimi) full of darkness. If then the light in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!
8: 12while the heirs of the kingdom will be thrown into the outer darkness, where there will be (eimi) weeping and gnashing of teeth."
10: 15Truly I tell you, it will be (eimi) more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah on the day of judgment than for that town.

27: 64Therefore command the tomb to be made secure until the third day; otherwise his disciples may go and steal him away, and tell the people, 'He has been raised from the dead,' and the last deception will be (eimi) worse than the first."

Mark

9: 19He answered them, "You faithless generation, how much longer will I be (eimi) among you? How much longer must I put up with you? Bring him to me."

Luke

1: 14And there will be (eimi) joy for you and gladness, and many will rejoice at his birth,

22: 69But from now on the Son of Man will be (eimi) seated at the right hand of the power of God."
23: 43He replied, "Truly I tell you, today you will be (eimi) with me in Paradise."

John

6: 45It is written in the prophets, 'And they shall be (eimi) all taught by God.' Everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to me.
8: 36So if the Son makes you free, you will be (eimi) free indeed.

Acts

2: 17'In the last days it will be (eimi), God declares, that I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.

1 John

3: 2Beloved, we are God's children now; what we will be (eimi) has not yet been revealed. What we do know is this: when he is revealed, we will be (eimi) like him, for we will see him as he is.

2 John

1: 2because of the truth that abides in us and will be (eimi) with us forever:
1: 3Grace, mercy, and peace will be (eimi) with us from God the Father and from Jesus Christ, the Father's Son, in truth and love.
