Matthew

12: 11He said to them, "Suppose one of you has only one sheep and it falls into a pit (bothynos) on the sabbath; will you not lay hold of it and lift it out?
15: 14Let them alone; they are blind guides of the blind. And if one blind person guides another, both will fall into a pit (bothynos)."

Luke

6: 39He also told them a parable: "Can a blind person guide a blind person? Will not both fall into a pit (bothynos)?

2 Samuel (LXX: 2 Kings)

18: 17And he took Abessalom, and cast him into a great cavern in the wood, into a deep pit (bothynos), and set up over him a very great heap of stones: and all Israel fled every man to his tent.

2 Kings (LXX: 4 Kings)

3: 16And he said, Thus saith the Lord, Make this valley pits (bothynos), pits (bothynos).

Isaiah (LXX)

24: 17Fear, and a pit (bothynos), and a snare, are upon you that dwell on the earth.

Jeremiah (LXX)

48 (31): 28The inhabitants of Moab have left the cities, and dwelt in rocks; they have become as doves nestling in rocks, at the mouth of a pit (bothynos).
48 (31): 43A snare, and fear, and the pit (bothynos), are upon thee, O inhabitant of Moab.
48 (31): 44He that flees from the terror shall fall into the pit (bothynos), and he that comes up out of the pit (bothynos) shall even be taken in the snare: for I will bring these things upon Moab in the year of their visitation.
