Verb pempō (to send) in the Gospels-Acts

(Translation from NRSV for the New Testament with a few modifications for a more litteral meaning)


2: 8Then he sent (pempō) them to Bethlehem, saying, "Go and search diligently for the child; and when you have found him, bring me word so that I may also go and pay him homage."
11: 2When John heard in prison what the Messiah was doing, he sent (pempō) word by his disciples
14: 10he sent (pempō) and had John beheaded in the prison.
22: 7The king was enraged. He sent (pempō) his troops, destroyed those murderers, and burned their city.


5: 12and the unclean spirits begged him, "Send (pempō) us into the swine; let us enter them."


4: 26yet Elijah was sent (pempō) to none of them except to a widow at Zarephath in Sidon.
7: 6And Jesus went with them, but when he was not far from the house, the centurion sent (pempō) friends to say to him, "Lord, do not trouble yourself, for I am not worthy to have you come under my roof;
7: 10When those who had been sent (pempō) returned to the house, they found the slave in good health.

6: 39And this is the will of him who sent (pempō) me, that I should lose nothing of all that he has given me, but raise it up on the last day.
6: 44No one can come to me unless drawn by the Father who sent (pempō) me; and I will raise that person up on the last day.

16: 7Nevertheless I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send (pempō) him to you.
