6: 34If you lend to those from whom you hope to receive, what credit is (eimi) that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, to receive as much again.

7: 6And Jesus went with them, but when he was not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to say to him, "Lord, do not trouble yourself, for I am (eimi) not worthy to have you come under my roof;
7: 8For I also am (eimi) a man set under authority, with soldiers under me; and I say to one, 'Go,' and he goes, and to another, 'Come,' and he comes, and to my slave, 'Do this,' and the slave does it."
7: 12As he approached the gate of the town, a man who had died was being carried out, the only son of his mother and she was (eimi) a widow; and with her was (eimi) a large crowd from the town.

7: 20When the men had come to him, they said, "John the Baptist has sent us to you to ask, 'Are (eimi) you the one coming, or should we expect another?'"

7: 31"To what then will I compare the people of this generation, and what are (eimi) they like?
7: 32They are (eimi) like children sitting in the marketplace and calling to one another, 'We played the flute for you, and you did not dance; we wailed, and you did not weep.'
7: 37And a woman in the city, who was (eimi) a sinner, having learned that he was eating in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster jar of ointment.

7: 41"There were (eimi) two debtors to a certain creditor; one owed five hundred denarii, and the other fifty.
7: 49But those at the table with him began to say among themselves, "Who is (eimi) this who even forgives sins?"
8: 2as well as some women who had been (eimi) cured of evil spirits and infirmities: Mary, called Magdalene, from whom seven demons had gone out,
8: 9Then his disciples asked him what this parable was (eimi).
8: 11"Now the parable is (eimi) this: The seed is (eimi) the word of God.
8: 12The ones on the path are (eimi) those who have heard; then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved.
8: 14As for what fell among the thorns, these are (eimi) the ones who hear; but as they go on their way, they are choked by the cares and riches and pleasures of life, and their fruit does not mature.
8: 15But as for that in the good soil, these are (eimi) the ones who, when they hear the word, hold it fast in an honest and good heart, and bear fruit with patient endurance.
8: 17For nothing is (eimi) hidden that will not be disclosed, nor secret that will not become known and come to light.
8: 21But he said to them, "My mother and my brothers are (eimi) those who hear the word of God and do it."
8: 25He said to them, "Where your faith?" They feared and were amazed, and said to one another, "Who then is (eimi) this, that he commands even the winds and the water, and they obey him?"
8: 26Then they arrived at the country of the Gerasenes, which is (eimi) opposite Galilee.
8: 30Jesus then asked him, "What is (eimi) your name?" He said, "Legion"; for many demons had entered him.
8: 32Now there was (eimi) on the hillside a large herd of swine feeding; and the demons begged Jesus to let them enter these. So he gave them permission.
8: 38The man from whom the demons had gone begged that he might be (eimi) with him; but Jesus sent him away, saying,
8: 40Now when Jesus returned, the crowd welcomed him, for they were (eimi) all waiting for him.
8: 42for he had an only daughter, about twelve years old, who was (eimi) dying. As he went, the crowds pressed in on him.
8: 43Now there was (eimi) a woman who had been suffering from hemorrhages for twelve years; and though she had spent all she had on physicians, no one could cure her.
9: 9Herod said, "John I beheaded; but who is (eimi) this about whom I hear such things?" And he tried to see him.
9: 12The day was drawing to a close, and the twelve came to him and said, "Send the crowd away, so that they may go into the surrounding villages and countryside, to lodge and get provisions; for we are (eimi) here in a deserted place."
9: 13But he said to them, "You give them something to eat." They said, "There are (eimi) no more than five loaves and two fish - unless we are to go and buy food for all these people."
9: 14For there were (eimi) about five thousand men. And he said to his disciples, "Make them sit down in groups of about fifty each."
9: 18Once when Jesus was (eimi) praying alone, with only the disciples near him, he asked them, "Who do the crowds say that I am (eimi)?"
9: 20He said to them, "But who do you say that I am (eimi)?" Peter answered, "The Messiah of God."
9: 27But truly I tell you, there are (eimi) some standing here who will not taste death before they see the kingdom of God."
9: 30Suddenly they saw two men, who were (eimi) Moses and Elijah, talking to him.
9: 32Now Peter and his companions were (eimi) weighed down with sleep; but since they had stayed awake, they saw his glory and the two men who stood with him.
9: 33Just as they were leaving him, Peter said to Jesus, "Master, it is (eimi) good for us to be (eimi) here; let us make three dwellings, one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah" - not knowing what he said.
9: 35Then from the cloud came a voice that said, "This is (eimi) my Son, my Chosen; listen to him!"
9: 38Just then a man from the crowd shouted, "Teacher, I beg you to look at my son; he is (eimi) my only child.
9: 41Jesus answered, "You faithless and perverse generation, how much longer must I be (eimi) with you and bear with you? Bring your son here."
9: 45But they did not understand this saying; its meaning was (eimi) concealed from them, so that they could not perceive it. And they feared to ask him about this saying.
9: 46An argument arose among them as to which one of them was (eimi) the greatest.
9: 48and said to them, "Whoever welcomes this child in my name welcomes me, and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me; for the least among all of you is (eimi) the greatest."
9: 50But Jesus said to him, "Do not stop him; for whoever is (eimi) not against you is (eimi) for you."
9: 53but they did not receive him, because his face was (eimi) set toward Jerusalem.
9: 62Jesus said to him, "No one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is (eimi) fit for the kingdom of God."
10: 6And if anyone is (eimi) there who shares in peace, your peace will rest on that person; but if not, it will return to you.
10: 12I tell you, on that day it will be (eimi) more tolerable for Sodom than for that town.
10: 14But at the judgment it will be (eimi) more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon than for you.
10: 22All things have been handed over to me by my Father; and no one knows who the Son is (eimi) except the Father, or who the Father is (eimi) except the Son and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal him."
10: 29But wanting to justify himself, he asked Jesus, "And who is (eimi) my neighbor?"
10: 39To her was (eimi) a sister named Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet and listened to his word.
10: 42there is (eimi) need of only one thing. Mary has chosen the better part, which will not be taken away from her."
11: 1He was (eimi) praying in a certain place, and after he had finished, one of his disciples said to him, "Lord, teach us to pray, as John taught his disciples."
11: 7And he answers from within, 'Do not bother me; the door has already been locked, and my children are (eimi) with me in bed; I cannot get up and give you anything.'
11: 8I tell you, even though he will not get up and give him anything because he is (eimi) his friend, at least because of his persistence he will get up and give him whatever he needs.
11: 14Now he was (eimi) casting out a demon that was (eimi) mute; when the demon had gone out, the one who had been mute spoke, and the crowds were amazed.
11: 19Now if I cast out the demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your exorcists cast them out? Therefore they will be (eimi) your judges.
11: 21When a strong man, fully armed, guards his castle, his property is (eimi) safe.
11: 23Whoever is (eimi) not with me is (eimi) against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.
11: 29When the crowds were increasing, he began to say, "This generation is (eimi) an evil generation; it asks for a sign, but no sign will be given to it except the sign of Jonah.
11: 30For just as Jonah became a sign to the people of Nineveh, so the Son of Man will be (eimi) to this generation.
11: 34Your eye is (eimi) the lamp of your body. If your eye is (eimi) healthy, your whole body is (eimi) full of light; but if it is (eimi) not healthy, then in full darkness your body.
11: 35Therefore consider whether the light in you is (eimi) not darkness.
11: 36If then your whole body in full light, with no part of it in darkness, it will be (eimi) as full of light as when a lamp gives you light with its rays."
11: 41So give for alms those things that are within; and see, everything will be (eimi) clean for you.
11: 44Woe to you! For you are (eimi) like unmarked graves, and people walk over them without realizing it."
11: 48So you are (eimi) witnesses and approve of the deeds of your ancestors; for they killed them, and you build their tombs.
12: 1Meanwhile, when the crowd gathered by the thousands, so that they trampled on one another, he began to speak first to his disciples, "Beware of the yeast of the Pharisees, that is (eimi), their hypocrisy.
12: 2Nothing is (eimi) covered up that will not be uncovered, and nothing secret that will not become known.
12: 6Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is (eimi) forgotten in God's sight.
12: 15And he said to them, "Take care! Keep yourself against all kinds of greed; for one's life is (eimi) not in the abundance of possessions."
12: 20But God said to him, 'You fool! This very night your life is being demanded of you. And the things you have prepared, whose will they be (eimi)?'
12: 23For life is (eimi) more than food, and the body more than clothing.
12: 24Consider the ravens: they neither sow nor reap, they are (eimi) no storehouse nor barn to them, and yet God feeds them. Of how much more you make a difference from the birds!
12: 28But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is (eimi) alive today and thrown into the oven tomorrow, how much more will he clothe you - you of little faith!
12: 34For where your treasure is (eimi), there your heart will be (eimi) also.
12: 35"Be (eimi) dressed for action and have your lamps lit;
12: 38If he comes during the middle of the night, or near dawn, and finds them so, blessed are (eimi) those slaves.
12: 42And the Lord said, "Who then is (eimi) the faithful and prudent manager whom his master will put in charge of his slaves, to give them their allowance of food at the proper time?
12: 52From now on five in one household will be (eimi) divided, three against two and two against three;
12: 55And when you see the south wind blowing, you say, 'There will be (eimi) scorching heat'; and it happens.
13: 11And just then there appeared a woman with a spirit that had crippled her for eighteen years. She was (eimi) bent over and quite unable to stand up straight.
13: 14But the leader of the synagogue, indignant because Jesus had cured on the sabbath, kept saying to the crowd, "There are (eimi) six days on which work ought to be done; come on those days and be cured, and not on the sabbath day."
13: 16And ought not this woman, being (eimi) a daughter of Abraham whom Satan bound for eighteen long years, be set free from this bondage on the sabbath day?"
13: 18He said therefore, "What is (eimi) the kingdom of God like? And to what should I compare it?
13: 19It is (eimi) like a mustard seed that someone took and sowed in the garden; it grew and became a tree, and the birds of the air made nests in its branches."
13: 21It is (eimi) like yeast that a woman took and mixed in with three measures of flour until all of it was leavened."
13: 25When once the owner of the house has got up and shut the door, and you begin to stand outside and to knock at the door, saying, 'Lord, open to us,' then in reply he will say to you, 'I do not know where you are (eimi) from.'
13: 27But he will say, 'I do not know where you are (eimi) from; go away from me, all you evildoers!'
13: 28There will be (eimi) weeping and gnashing of teeth when you see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrown out.
13: 30Indeed, some are (eimi) last who will be (eimi) first, and some are (eimi) first who will be (eimi) last."
14: 1On one occasion when Jesus was going to the house of a leader of the Pharisees to eat a meal on the sabbath, they were (eimi) watching him closely.
14: 2Just then, in front of him, there was (eimi) a man who had edema (dropsy).
14: 8"When you are invited by someone to a wedding banquet, do not sit down at the place of honor, in case someone more distinguished than you has been (eimi) invited by your host;
14: 10But when you are invited, go and sit down at the lowest place, so that when your host comes, he may say to you, 'Friend, move up higher'; then you will be (eimi) honored in the presence of all who sit at the table with you.
14: 14And you will be (eimi) blessed, because they cannot repay you, for you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous."
14: 17At the time for the dinner he sent his slave to say to those who had been invited, 'Come; for everything is (eimi) ready now.'
14: 22And the slave said, 'Sir, what you ordered has been done, and there is (eimi) still room.'
14: 26"Whoever comes to me and does not hate father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and even life itself, cannot be (eimi) my disciple.
14: 27Whoever does not carry the cross and follow me cannot be (eimi) my disciple.
14: 31Or what king, going out to wage war against another king, will not sit down first and consider whether he is (eimi) able with ten thousand to oppose the one who comes against him with twenty thousand?
14: 32If he cannot, then, while the other is (eimi) still far away, he sends a delegation and asks for the terms of peace.
14: 33So therefore, none of you can be (eimi) my disciple if you do not give up all your possessions.
14: 35It is (eimi) fit neither for the soil nor for the manure pile; they throw it away. Let anyone with ears to hear listen!"
15: 1Now all the tax collectors and sinners were (eimi) coming near to listen to him.
15: 7Just so, I tell you, there will be (eimi) more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.
15: 19I am (eimi) no longer worthy to be called your son; treat me like one of your hired hands."'
15: 21Then the son said to him, 'Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you; I am (eimi) no longer worthy to be called your son.'
15: 24for this son of mine was (eimi) dead and lives again; he was (eimi) lost and has been found!' And they began to celebrate.
15: 25"Now his elder son was (eimi) in the field; and when he came and approached the house, he heard music and dancing.
15: 26He called one of the slaves and asked what was (eimi) going on.
15: 31Then the father said to him, 'Son, you are (eimi) always with me, and everything mine is (eimi) yours.
15: 32But we had to celebrate and rejoice, because this brother of yours was (eimi) dead and has come to life; lost and has been found.'"
16: 1Then Jesus said to the disciples, "A certain main was (eimi) rich who had a manager, and charges were brought to him that this man was squandering his property.
16: 8And his master commended the dishonest manager because he had acted shrewdly; for the children of this age are more shrewd in dealing with their own generation than are (eimi) the children of light.
16: 10"Whoever faithful in a very little is (eimi) faithful also in much; and whoever dishonest in a very little is (eimi) dishonest also in much.
16: 15So he said to them, "You are (eimi) those who justify yourselves in the sight of others; but God knows your hearts; for what is prized by human beings an abomination in the sight of God.
16: 17But it is (eimi) easier for heaven and earth to pass away, than for one stroke of a letter in the law to be dropped.
16: 19"There was (eimi) a rich man who was dressed in purple and fine linen and who feasted sumptuously every day.
17: 1Jesus said to his disciples, "It is (eimi) impossible for stumbling blocks not to come, but woe to anyone by whom they come!
17: 10So you also, when you have done all that you were ordered to do, say, 'We are (eimi) worthless slaves; we have done only what we ought to have done!'"
17: 16He prostrated himself at Jesus' feet and thanked him. And he was (eimi) a Samaritan.
17: 21nor will they say, 'Look, here!' or 'Look, there!' For, in fact, the kingdom of God is (eimi) among you."
17: 24For as the lightning flashes and lights up the sky from one side to the other, so will the Son of Man be (eimi) in his day.
17: 26Just as what happened in the days of Noah, so too it will be (eimi) in the days of the Son of Man.
17: 30- it will be (eimi) like that on the day that the Son of Man is revealed.
17: 31On that day, anyone who is (eimi) on the housetop who has belongings in the house must not come down to take them away; and likewise anyone in the field must not turn back.
17: 34I tell you, on that night there will be (eimi) two in one bed; one will be taken and the other left.
17: 35There will be (eimi) two women grinding meal together; one will be taken and the other left."
18: 2He said, "In a certain city there was (eimi) a judge who neither feared God nor had respect for people.
18: 3In that city there was (eimi) a widow who kept coming to him and saying, 'Grant me justice against my opponent.'
18: 9He also told this parable to some who trusted in themselves that they were (eimi) righteous and regarded others with contempt:
18: 11The Pharisee, standing by himself, was praying thus, 'God, I thank you that I am (eimi) not like other people: thieves, rogues, adulterers, or even like this tax collector.
18: 16But Jesus called for them and said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not stop them; for it is (eimi) to such as these that the kingdom of God belongs.
18: 23But when he heard this, he became sad; for he was (eimi) very rich.
18: 25Indeed, it is (eimi) easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone rich to enter the kingdom of God."
18: 27He replied, "What impossible for mortals is (eimi) possible for God."
18: 29And he said to them, "Truly I tell you, there is (eimi) no one who has left house or wife or brothers or parents or children, for the sake of the kingdom of God,
18: 34But they understood nothing about all these things; in fact, what he said was (eimi) hidden from them, and they did not grasp what was said.
18: 36When he heard a crowd going by, he asked what was (eimi) happening.
19: 2And behold a man was called Zacchaeus by name; he was (eimi) a chief tax collector and rich.
19: 3He was trying to see who Jesus was (eimi), but on account of the crowd he could not, because he was (eimi) short in stature.
19: 9Then Jesus said to him, "Today salvation has come to this house, because he too is (eimi) a son of Abraham.
19: 11As they were listening to this, he went on to tell a parable, because he was (eimi) near Jerusalem, and because they supposed that the kingdom of God was to appear immediately.
19: 17He said to him, 'Well done, good slave! Because you have been trustworthy in a very small thing, be (eimi) in power over ten cities.'
19: 22He said to him, 'I will judge you by your own words, you wicked slave! You knew, did you, that I was (eimi) a harsh man, taking what I did not deposit and reaping what I did not sow?
19: 46and he said, "It is written, 'My house shall be (eimi) a house of prayer'; but you have made it a den of robbers."
19: 47Every day he was (eimi) teaching in the temple. The chief priests, the scribes, and the leaders of the people kept looking for a way to kill him;
20: 2And said to him, "Tell us, by what authority are you doing these things? Who is (eimi) it who gave you this authority?"
20: 4Did the baptism of John come from heaven, or was (eimi) it of human origin?"
20: 6But if we say, 'Of human origin,' all the people will stone us; for they are (eimi) convinced that John was (eimi) a prophet."
20: 14But when the tenants saw him, they discussed it among themselves and said, 'This is (eimi) the heir; let us kill him so the inheritance may become ours.'
20: 17But he looked at them and said, "What then is (eimi) this writing: 'The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone'?
20: 20So they watched him and sent spies who pretended to be (eimi) honest, in order to trap him by what he said, so as to hand him over to the jurisdiction and authority of the governor.
20: 27Some Sadducees, those who say there is (eimi) no resurrection, came to him
20: 36Indeed they cannot die anymore, because they are (eimi) like angels and are (eimi) children of God, being (eimi) children of the resurrection.
20: 38Now he is (eimi) God not of the dead, but of the living; for to him all of them are alive."
20: 41Then he said to them, "How can they say that the Messiah is (eimi) David's son?
20: 44David thus calls him Lord; so how can he be (eimi) his son?"
21: 7They asked him, "Teacher, when will this be (eimi), and by what the sign that this will take place?"
21: 8And he said, "Beware that you are not led astray; for many will come in my name and say, 'I am (eimi) he!' and, 'The time drew near!' Do not go after them.
21: 11there will be (eimi) great earthquakes, and in various places famines and plagues; and there will be (eimi) dreadful portents and great signs from heaven.
21: 17You will be (eimi) hated by all because of my name.
21: 22for these are (eimi) days of vengeance, as a fulfillment of all the Scriptures.
21: 23Woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing infants in those days! For there will be (eimi) great distress on the earth and wrath against this people;
21: 24they will fall by the edge of the sword and be taken away as captives among all nations; and Jerusalem will be (eimi) trampled on by the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.
21: 25"There will be (eimi) signs in the sun, the moon, and the stars, and on the earth distress among nations confused by the roaring of the sea and the waves.
21: 30as soon as they sprout leaves you can see for yourselves and know that summer is (eimi) already near.
21: 31So also, when you see these things taking place, you know that the kingdom of God is (eimi) near.
22: 3Then Satan entered into Judas called Iscariot, who was (eimi) one of the twelve;
22: 11and say to the owner of the house, 'The teacher asks you, "Where is (eimi) the guest room, where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?"'
22: 19Then he took a loaf of bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to them, saying, "This is (eimi) my body, given for you. Do this in remembrance of me."
22: 23Then they began to ask one another which one of them it could be (eimi) who would do this.
22: 24A dispute also arose among them as to which one of them seemed to be (eimi) the greatest.
22: 27For who the greater, the one sitting at the table or the one who serves? Is it not the one at the table? But I am (eimi) among you as one who serves.
22: 28"You are (eimi) those who have stood by me in my trials;
22: 33And he said to him, "Lord, I am (eimi) ready to go with you to prison and to death!"
22: 38They said, "Lord, look, here are two swords." He replied, "It is (eimi) enough."
22: 49When those around him saw what would be (eimi), they asked, "Lord, should we strike with the sword?"
22: 53When I was (eimi) with you day after day in the temple, you did not lay hands on me. But this is (eimi) your hour, and the power of darkness!"
22: 58A little later someone else, on seeing him, said, "You also are (eimi) one of them." But Peter said, "Man, I am (eimi) not!"
22: 59Then about an hour later still another kept insisting, "Surely this man also was (eimi) with him; for he is (eimi) a Galilean."
22: 64they also blindfolded him and kept asking him, "Prophesy! Who is (eimi) it that struck you?"
22: 67They said, "If you are (eimi) the Messiah, tell us." He replied, "If I tell you, you will not believe;
22: 69But from now on the Son of Man will be (eimi) seated at the right hand of the power of God."
22: 70All of them asked, "Are (eimi) you, then, the Son of God?" He said to them, "You say that I am (eimi)."
23: 2They began to accuse him, saying, "We found this man perverting our nation, forbidding us to pay taxes to the emperor, and saying that he himself is (eimi) the Messiah, a king."
23: 3Then Pilate asked him, "Are (eimi) you the king of the Jews?" He answered, "You say so."
23: 6When Pilate heard this, he asked whether the man was (eimi) a Galilean.
23: 7And when he learned that he was (eimi) under Herod's jurisdiction, he sent him off to Herod, who was (eimi) himself in Jerusalem at that time.
23: 8When Herod saw Jesus, he was (eimi) very glad, for he had been wanting to see him for a long time, because he had heard about him and was hoping to see him perform some sign.
23: 12That same day Herod and Pilate became friends with each other; before this they had been (eimi) enemies.
23: 15Neither has Herod, for he sent him back to us. Indeed, nothing worthy of death has been (eimi) done by him.
23: 19(This was (eimi) a man who had been put in prison for an insurrection that had taken place in the city, and for murder.)
23: 35And the people stood by, watching; but the leaders scoffed at him, saying, "He saved others; let him save himself if he is (eimi) the Messiah of God, his chosen one!"
23: 37and saying, "If you are (eimi) the King of the Jews, save yourself!"
23: 38There was (eimi) also an inscription over him, "King of the Jews this one."
23: 39One of the criminals who were hanged there kept deriding him and saying, "Are (eimi) you not the Messiah? Save yourself and us!"
23: 43He replied, "Truly I tell you, today you will be (eimi) with me in Paradise."
23: 44It was (eimi) now about noon, and darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon,
23: 51He was (eimi) not in agreement with to their plan and action. He came from the Jewish town of Arimathea, and he was waiting expectantly for the kingdom of God.
23: 53Then he took it down, wrapped it in a linen cloth, and laid it in a rock-hewn tomb where no one was (eimi) having been laid.
23: 54It was (eimi) the day of Preparation, and the sabbath was beginning.
23: 55The women who were (eimi) coming together him from Galilee followed, and they saw the tomb and how his body was laid.
24: 6He is (eimi) not here, but has risen. Remember how he told you, while he was (eimi) still in Galilee,
24: 10Now it was (eimi) Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the other women with them who told this to the apostles.
24: 13Now on that same day two of them were (eimi) going to a village called Emmaus, about seven miles from Jerusalem,
24: 21But we had hoped that he was (eimi) the one to redeem Israel. But, moreover besides all this, the days have passed since these things took place.
24: 29But they urged him strongly, saying, "Stay with us, because it is (eimi) almost evening and the day has declined." So he went in to stay with them.
24: 32They said to each other, "Were (eimi) not our hearts burning within us while he was talking to us on the road, while he was opening the scriptures to us?"
24: 38He said to them, "Why are (eimi) you frightened, and why do doubts arise in your hearts?
24: 39Look at my hands and my feet; see that it is (eimi) I myself. Touch me and see; for a ghost does not have flesh and bones as you see that I have."
24: 44Then he said to them, "These are my words that I spoke to you while I was (eimi) still with you - that everything written about me in the law of Moses, the prophets, and the psalms must be fulfilled."
24: 53and they were (eimi) continually in the temple blessing God.

Acts

4: 22For the man on whom this sign of healing had been performed was (eimi) more than forty years old.
4: 31When they had prayed, the place in which they were (eimi) gathered together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God with boldness.

8: 13Even Simon himself believed. After being baptized, he was (eimi) staying constantly with Philip and was amazed when he saw the signs and great miracles that took place.
8: 16(for as yet the Spirit was (eimi) not fallen upon any of them; they had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus).

10: 4He stared at him in terror and said, "What is (eimi) it, Lord?" He answered, "Your prayers and your alms have ascended as a memorial before God.

10: 17Now while Peter was greatly puzzled about what was (eimi) the vision that he had seen, suddenly the men sent by Cornelius appeared. They were asking for Simon's house and were standing by the gate.

10: 30Cornelius replied, "Four days ago at this very hour, at three o'clock, I was (eimi) praying in my house when suddenly a man in dazzling clothes stood before me.
10: 34Then Peter began to speak to them: "I truly understand that God is (eimi) not biased,
10: 35but in every nation anyone who fears him and does righteousness is (eimi) acceptable to him.
10: 36You know the message he sent to the people of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ - he is (eimi) Lord of all.
10: 38how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power; how he went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was (eimi) with him.
10: 42He commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that he is (eimi) the one ordained by God as judge of the living and the dead.
11: 1Now the apostles and the believers who were (eimi) in Judea heard that the Gentiles had also accepted the word of God.
11: 5"I was (eimi) in the city of Joppa praying, and in a trance I saw a vision. Something like a large sheet came down from heaven, being lowered by its four corners; and it came close to me.
11: 17If then God gave them the same gift that he gave us when we believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was (eimi) I that I could hinder God?"
11: 21The hand of the Lord was (eimi) with them, and a great number became believers and turned to the Lord.
11: 22News of this came to the ears of the church which is (eimi) in Jerusalem, and they sent Barnabas to Antioch.
11: 24for he was (eimi) a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and of faith. And a great many people were brought to the Lord.
11: 28One of them named Agabus stood up and predicted by the Spirit that there would be (eimi) a severe famine over all the world; and this took place during the reign of Claudius.
12: 3Having seen that this was (eimi) pleasing to the Jews, he proceeded to arrest Peter also. (This was (eimi) during the festival of Unleavened Bread.)
12: 5While Peter was kept in prison, fervent prayer was (eimi) made by the church to God for him.
12: 6The very night before Herod was going to bring him out, Peter, bound with two chains, was (eimi) sleeping between two soldiers, while guards in front of the door were keeping watch over the prison.
12: 9Peter went out and followed him; he did not realize that what was happening with the angel's help was (eimi) real; he thought he was seeing a vision.
12: 12As soon as he realized this, he went to the house of Mary, the mother of John called Mark, where were (eimi) many gathered and praying.
12: 15They said to her, "You are out of your mind!" But she insisted that it was so. They said, "It is (eimi) his angel."
12: 18When morning came, there was (eimi) no small commotion among the soldiers over what had become of Peter.
13: 1Now there were (eimi) in the church which is (eimi) in Antioch prophets and teachers: Barnabas, Simeon called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen a member of the court of Herod the ruler, and Saul.
13: 7He was (eimi) with the proconsul, Sergius Paulus, an intelligent man, who summoned Barnabas and Saul and wanted to hear the word of God.
13: 11And now listen - the hand of the Lord (is) against you, and you will be (eimi) blind for a while, unable to see the sun." Immediately mist and darkness came over him, and he went about groping for someone to lead him by the hand.
13: 15After the reading of the law and the prophets, the officials of the synagogue sent them a message, saying, "Brothers, if there is (eimi) any word of exhortation in you for the people, give it."
13: 25And as John was finishing his work, he said, 'What do you suppose that I am (eimi)? I am (eimi) not he. No, but comes after me someone I am (eimi) not worthy to untie the thong of the sandals on his feet.'
13: 31and for many days he appeared to those who came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, and they are (eimi) now his witnesses to the people.
13: 33he has fulfilled for us, their children, by raising Jesus; as also it is written in the second psalm, 'You are (eimi) my Son; today I have begotten you.'
13: 38Let it be (eimi) known to you therefore, my brothers, that through this man forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you;
13: 46Then both Paul and Barnabas spoke out boldly, saying, "It was (eimi) necessary that the word of God should be spoken first to you. Since you reject it and judge yourselves unworthy of eternal life, we are now turning to the Gentiles.
13: 47For so the Lord has commanded us, saying, 'I have set you to be (eimi) a light for the Gentiles, so that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.'"
13: 48When the Gentiles heard this, they rejoiced and praised the word of the Lord; and as many as had been (eimi) destined for eternal life became believers.
14: 4But the residents of the city were divided; some were (eimi) with the Jews, and some with the apostles.
14: 12Barnabas they called Zeus, and Paul they called Hermes, because he was (eimi) the chief speaker.
14: 13The priest of Zeus, whose temple was (eimi) just outside the city, brought oxen and garlands to the gates; he and the crowds wanted to offer sacrifice.
14: 15"Friends, why are you doing this? We are (eimi) mortals just like you, and we bring you good news, that you should turn from these worthless things to the living God, who made the heaven and the earth and the sea and all in them.
14: 26From there they sailed back to Antioch, where they had been (eimi) commended to the grace of God for the work that they had completed.
15: 32Judas and Silas, who were (eimi) themselves prophets, said much to encourage and strengthen the believers.
16: 1Paul went on also to Derbe and to Lystra, where there was (eimi) a disciple named Timothy, the son of a Jewish woman who became a believer, and of a Greek father.
16: 3Paul wanted Timothy to accompany him; and he took him and had him circumcised because of the Jews who were (eimi) in those places, for they all knew that his father was a Greek.
16: 12and from there to Philippi, which is (eimi) a leading city of the district of Macedonia and a Roman colony. We remained in this city for some days.
16: 13On the sabbath day we went outside the gate by the river, where we supposed there was (eimi) a place of prayer; and we sat down and spoke to the women who had gathered there.
16: 15When she and her household were baptized, she urged us, saying, "If you have judged me to be (eimi) faithful to the Lord, come and stay at my home." And she prevailed upon us.
16: 17While she followed Paul and us, she would cry out, "These men are (eimi) slaves of the Most High God, who proclaim to you a way of salvation."
16: 21and are advocating customs that are (eimi) not lawful for us as Romans to adopt or observe."
16: 28But Paul shouted in a loud voice, "Do not harm yourself, for we are (eimi) all here."
16: 38The police reported these words to the magistrates, and they feared when they heard that they were (eimi) Roman citizens;
17: 1After Paul and Silas had passed through Amphipolis and Apollonia, they came to Thessalonica, where there was (eimi) a synagogue of the Jews.
17: 3explaining and proving that it was necessary for the Messiah to suffer and to rise from the dead, and saying, "This is (eimi) the Messiah, Jesus whom I am proclaiming to you."
17: 7and Jason has entertained them as guests. They are all acting contrary to the decrees of the emperor, saying that there is (eimi) another king named Jesus."
17: 11These Jews were (eimi) more receptive than those in Thessalonica, for they welcomed the message very eagerly and examined the scriptures every day to see whether these things were so.
17: 16While Paul was waiting for them in Athens, he was deeply distressed to see that the city was (eimi) full of idols.
17: 18Also some Epicurean and Stoic philosophers debated with him. Some said, "What does this babbler want to say?" Others said, "He seems to be (eimi) a proclaimer of foreign divinities." (For he was telling the good news about Jesus and the resurrection.)
17: 20It sounds rather strange to us, so we would like to know what these things are (eimi)."
17: 28For 'In him we live and move and we are (eimi)'; as even some of your own poets have said, 'For we too are (eimi) his offspring.'
17: 29Since we are God's offspring, we ought not to think that the deity is supposed to be (eimi) like gold, or silver, or stone, an image formed by the art and imagination of mortals.
18: 3and, because he was (eimi) of the same trade, he stayed with them, and they worked together - by trade they were (eimi) tentmakers.
18: 5When Silas and Timothy arrived from Macedonia, Paul was occupied with proclaiming the word, testifying to the Jews that the Messiah was (eimi) Jesus.
18: 7Then he left the synagogue and went to the house of a man named Titius Justus, a worshiper of God; his house was (eimi) next door to the synagogue.
18: 10for I am (eimi) with you, and no one will lay a hand on you to harm you, for there are (eimi) many in this city who are my people."
18: 12But when Gallio was (eimi) proconsul of Achaia, the Jews made a united attack on Paul and brought him before the tribunal.
18: 14Just as Paul was about to speak, Gallio said to the Jews, "If it were (eimi) a matter of crime or serious villainy, I would be justified in accepting the complaint of you Jews;
18: 15but since it is (eimi) a matter of questions about words and names and your own law, see to it yourselves; I do not wish to be (eimi) a judge of these matters."
18: 24Now there came to Ephesus a Jew named Apollos, a native of Alexandria, an eloquent man, who was (eimi) well-versed in the scriptures.
18: 25He had been (eimi) instructed in the Way of the Lord; and he spoke with burning enthusiasm and taught accurately the things concerning Jesus, though he knew only the baptism of John.
18: 28for he powerfully refuted the Jews in public, showing by the scriptures that the Messiah is (eimi) Jesus.
19: 1While Apollos was (eimi) in Corinth, Paul passed through the interior regions and came to Ephesus, where he found some disciples.
19: 4Paul said, "John baptized with the baptism of repentance, telling the people to believe in the one coming after him, that is (eimi), in Jesus."
19: 7altogether there were (eimi) about twelve of them.
19: 14Seven sons of a Jewish high priest named Sceva were (eimi) doing this.
19: 15But the evil spirit said to them in reply, "Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are (eimi) you?"
19: 16Then the man on who was (eimi) the evil spirit leaped on them, mastered them all, and so overpowered them that they fled out of the house naked and wounded.
19: 25These he gathered together, with the workers of the same trade, and said, "Men, you know that for this buisiness is (eimi) our wealth.
19: 26You also see and hear that not only in Ephesus but in almost the whole of Asia this Paul has persuaded and drawn away a considerable number of people by saying that gods made with hands are (eimi) not gods.
19: 31even some officials of the province of Asia, who were (eimi) friendly to him, sent him a message urging him not to venture into the theater.
19: 32Meanwhile, some were shouting one thing, some another; for the assembly was (eimi) in confusion, and most of them did not know why they had come together.
19: 34But when they recognized that he was (eimi) a Jew, for about two hours all of them shouted in unison, "Great is Artemis of the Ephesians!"
19: 35But when the town clerk had quieted the crowd, he said, "Citizens of Ephesus, who is (eimi) there that does not know that the city of the Ephesians is (eimi) the temple keeper of the great Artemis and of the statue that fell from heaven?
19: 36Since these things cannot be (eimi) denied, you ought to be (eimi) quiet and do nothing rash.
19: 38If therefore Demetrius and the artisans with him have a complaint against anyone, the courts are open, and there are (eimi) proconsuls; let them bring charges there against one another.
20: 8There were (eimi) many lamps in the room upstairs where we were (eimi) meeting.
20: 10But Paul went down, and bending over him took him in his arms, and said, "Do not fear, for his life is (eimi) in him."
20: 13We went ahead to the ship and set sail for Assos, intending to take Paul on board there; for he had made this arrangement, he was (eimi) readying himself to go by foot.
20: 16For Paul had decided to sail past Ephesus, so that he might not have to spend time in Asia; he was speeding up to be (eimi) in Jerusalem, if possible, on the day of Pentecost.
20: 26Therefore I declare to you this day that I am (eimi) not responsible for the blood of any of you,
20: 34You know for yourselves that I worked with my own hands to support myself and those who are (eimi) with me.
20: 35In all this I have given you an example that by such work we must support the weak, remembering the words of the Lord Jesus, for he himself said, 'It is (eimi) more blessed to give than to receive.'"
21: 3We came in sight of Cyprus; and leaving it on our left, we sailed to Syria and landed at Tyre, because the ship was (eimi) to unload its cargo there.
21: 8The next day we left and came to Caesarea; and we went into the house of Philip the evangelist, who was (eimi) one of the seven, and stayed with him.
21: 9From him there were (eimi) four unmarried daughters who had the gift of prophecy.
21: 11He came to us and took Paul's belt, bound his own feet and hands with it, and said, "Thus says the Holy Spirit, 'This way the Jews in Jerusalem will bind the man to whom this belt is (eimi) and will hand him over to the Gentiles.'"
21: 20When they heard it, they praised God. Then they said to him, "You see, brother, how many thousands are (eimi) the believers among the Jews, and they are all zealous for the law.
21: 22What then is (eimi) (to be done)? They will certainly hear that you have come.
21: 23So do what we tell you. There are (eimi) four men who are under a vow.
21: 24Join these men, go through the rite of purification with them, and pay for the shaving of their heads. Thus all will know that there is (eimi) nothing in what they have been told about you, but that you yourself observe and guard the law.
21: 28shouting, "Fellow Israelites, help! This is (eimi) the man teaching everyone everywhere against our people, our law, and this place; more than that, he has actually brought Greeks into the temple and has defiled this holy place."
21: 29For were (eimi) having seen previously Trophimus the Ephesian with him in the city, and they supposed that Paul had brought him into the temple.
21: 33Then the tribune came, arrested him, and ordered him to be bound with two chains; he inquired who he was (eimi) and what he was (eimi) having done.
21: 38Then you are (eimi) not the Egyptian who recently stirred up a revolt and led the four thousand assassins out into the wilderness?"
21: 39Paul replied, "I am (eimi) a Jew, from Tarsus in Cilicia, a citizen of an important city; I beg you, let me speak to the people."
22: 3"I am (eimi) a Jew, born in Tarsus in Cilicia, but brought up in this city at the feet of Gamaliel, educated strictly according to our ancestral law, being zealous for God, just as all of you are (eimi) today.
22: 5as the high priest and the whole council of elders can testify about me. From them I also received letters to the brothers in Damascus, and I went there in order to bind those who were (eimi) there and to bring them back to Jerusalem for punishment.
22: 8I answered, 'Who are (eimi) you, Lord?' Then he said to me, 'I am (eimi) Jesus of Nazareth whom you are persecuting.'
22: 9Now those who were (eimi) with me saw the light but did not hear the voice of the one who was speaking to me.
22: 15for you will be (eimi) his witness to all the world of what you have seen and heard.
22: 19And I said, 'Lord, they themselves know that in every synagogue I was (eimi) imprisoning and beating those who believed in you.
22: 20And while the blood of your witness Stephen was shed, I myself was (eimi) standing by, approving and keeping the coats of those who killed him.'
22: 26When the centurion heard that, he went to the tribune and said to him, "What are you about to do? This man is (eimi) a Roman citizen."
22: 29Immediately those who were about to examine him drew back from him; and the tribune also feared, for he realized that Paul was (eimi) a Roman citizen and that he has been (eimi) bound.
23: 5And Paul said, "I did not realize, brothers, that he was (eimi) high priest; for it is written, 'You shall not speak evil of a leader of your people.'"
23: 6When Paul noticed that some were (eimi) Sadducees and others Pharisees, he called out in the council, "Brothers, I am (eimi) a Pharisee, a son of Pharisees. I am on trial concerning the hope of the resurrection of the dead."
23: 8(The Sadducees say that there is (eimi) no resurrection, or angel, or spirit; but the Pharisees acknowledge all three.)
23: 13There were (eimi) more than forty who joined in this conspiracy.
23: 15Now then, you and the council must notify the tribune to bring him down to you, on the pretext that you want to make a more thorough examination of his case. And we are (eimi) ready to do away with him before he arrives."
23: 19The tribune took him by the hand, drew him aside privately, and asked, "What is (eimi) it that you have to report to me?"
23: 21But do not be persuaded by them, for more than forty of their men are lying in ambush for him. They have bound themselves by an oath neither to eat nor drink until they kill him. They are (eimi) ready now and are waiting for your consent."
23: 27This man was seized by the Jews and was about to be killed by them, but when I had learned that he was (eimi) a Roman citizen, I came with the guard and rescued him.
23: 30When I was informed that there would be (eimi) a plot against the man, I sent him to you at once, ordering his accusers also to state before you what they have against him."
23: 34On reading the letter, he asked from what province he was (eimi), and when he learned that he was from Cilicia,
24: 10When the governor motioned to him to speak, Paul replied: "I cheerfully make my defense, knowing that for many years you have been (eimi) a judge over this nation.
24: 11As you can find out, it is (eimi) not more than twelve days since I went up to worship in Jerusalem.
24: 15I have a hope in God - a hope that they themselves also accept - that there will be (eimi) a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.
24: 24Some days later when Felix came with his wife Drusilla, who was (eimi) Jewish, he sent for Paul and heard him speak concerning faith in Christ Jesus.
25: 5"So," he said, "let those of you who have the authority come down with me, and if there is (eimi) anything wrong about the man, let them accuse him."
25: 10Paul said, "I am (eimi) appealing to the emperor's tribunal where I should be tried. I have done no wrong to the Jews, as you very well know.
25: 11Now if I do wrong and have committed something for which I deserve to die, I do not refuse to die; but if there is (eimi) nothing to their charges against me, no one can turn me over to them. I appeal to the emperor."
25: 14Since they were staying there several days, Festus laid Paul's case before the king, saying, "There is (eimi) a man here who was left in prison by Felix.
25: 16I told them that it was (eimi) not the custom of the Romans to hand over anyone before the accused had met the accusers face to face and had been given an opportunity to make a defense against the charge.
26: 3because you are (eimi) especially familiar with all the customs and controversies of the Jews; therefore I beg of you to listen to me patiently.
26: 15I asked, 'Who are (eimi) you, Lord?' The Lord answered, 'I am (eimi) Jesus whom you are persecuting.
26: 21For this reason the Jews seized me while I was (eimi) in the temple and tried to kill me.
26: 26Indeed the king knows about these things, and to him I speak freely; for I am certain that none of these things has escaped his notice, for this was (eimi) not done in a corner.
26: 29Paul replied, "Whether quickly or not, I pray to God that not only you but also all who are listening to me today might become such as I am (eimi) - except for these chains."
27: 2Embarking on a ship of Adramyttium that was about to set sail to the ports along the coast of Asia, we put to sea, being (eimi) with Aristarchus, a Macedonian from Thessalonica.
27: 4Putting out to sea from there, we sailed under the lee of Cyprus, because the winds were (eimi) against us.
27: 8Sailing past it with difficulty, we came to a place called Fair Havens, which was (eimi) near the city of Lasea.
27: 9Since much time had been lost and sailing was (eimi) now dangerous, because even the Fast had already gone by, Paul advised them,
27: 10saying, "Sirs, I can see that the voyage will be (eimi) with danger and much heavy loss, not only of the cargo and the ship, but also of our lives."
27: 22I urge you now to keep up your courage, for there will be (eimi) no loss of life among you, but only of the ship.
27: 23For last night there stood by me an angel of the God to whom I am (eimi) and whom I worship,
27: 25So keep up your courage, men, for I have faith in God that it will be (eimi) exactly as I have been told.
27: 37(We were (eimi) in all two hundred seventy-six persons in the ship.)
28: 4When the natives saw the creature hanging from his hand, they said to one another, "This man must be (eimi) a murderer; though he has escaped from the sea, justice has not allowed him to live."
28: 6They were expecting him to swell up or drop dead, but after they had waited a long time and saw that nothing unusual had happened to him, they changed their minds and began to say that he was (eimi) a god.
28: 17Three days later he called together those who were (eimi) leaders of the Jews. When they had assembled, he said to them, "Brothers, though I had done nothing against our people or the customs of our ancestors, yet I was arrested in Jerusalem and handed over to the Romans.
28: 22But we would like to hear from you what you think, for with regard to this sect it is (eimi) known to us that everywhere it is spoken against."
28: 25So being (eimi) in disagreement with each other, they were leaving, Paul made one further statement: "The Holy Spirit spoke rightly in saying to your ancestors through the prophet Isaiah,
28: 28Let it be (eimi) known to you then that this salvation of God has been sent to the Gentiles; they will listen."
